Hello, my name is Levi Cai, but I usually go by Veevee.

I am interested in developing self-sustaining, autonomous systems for scientific exploration (especially in the ocean). I leverage machine learning methods applied to robotic perception and control to enable robots to operate in highly dynamic and unstructured environments. I also develop novel hardware platforms and investigate animal-robot and environment-robot interactions. Previously, I worked on autonomous mobile systems for large-scale construction and additive manufacturing.

I am currently a PhD student in the MIT-WHOI Joint Program in EECS/AOPE, and am supervised by Dr. Yogesh Girdhar (WHOI) and collaborate with Prof. Daniela Rus (MIT).
